On the morning of Saturday, March 21st, the Royal House of Georgia held the Americas 2026 Investiture at the historic American Legion Hollywood Post 43 in Los Angeles. The ceremony marked a significant moment in the continued presence and activity of the Royal House in the Americas.
The Investiture was presided over by HRH Crown Prince Davit Bagration, with the participation of HH Tavadi Kimon Andreou and HE Maj. Jason Hatch. In his opening remarks, HRH Crown Prince Davit addressed those gathered before entrusting the conduct of the ceremony to HH Tavadi Kimon Andreou. The setting, rich in history and symbolism, provided a fitting backdrop for the solemn proceedings.
Approximately sixty guests were in attendance, including dignitaries, members of the Royal Orders, and invited guests from across the globe. Notably, many of those present, including a significant number of the United States-based Knights and Dames, are veterans of the United States Armed Forces, lending a distinct sense of service and shared experience to the occasion.
Prior to the ceremony, Col. Arnold Strong offered attendees a guided tour of the venue, outlining its history and cultural importance. Particular attention was given to the room in which the Investiture took place. Karen Kraft, newly invested as Dame Commander, addressed those present and spoke on the significance of the space, noting that it had been constructed by returning soldiers of the First World War.
The ceremony proceeded with the Investiture of Knights and Dames into the Order of the Eagle of Georgia, followed by Investitures into the Order of St. Queen Tamara. Thirteen individuals were present to be formally invested, while others unable to attend will be received at a later time. The solemnity of the occasion was maintained throughout, reflecting the traditions and continuity of the Royal Orders.
Further presentations included the granting of ennoblements, followed by the formal presentation of recent heraldic grants of arms by the Royal Heraldic College of Georgia, underscoring the enduring importance of heraldry within the Royal House.
In recognition of the recent passing of Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia, the flags were maintained at half-staff throughout the ceremony, lending an additional note of reflection and respect to the proceedings.
Among those honored during the Investiture were distinguished international figures. Virginia Gamba was invested as Dame Grand Cross of the Order of the Eagle of Georgia. Dr. Johnny Hon was invested as Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Eagle of Georgia and also received the distinction of Knight Grand Collar of the Order of St. Queen Tamara. His son was also proclaimed as his Esquire.
The Royal House extends its sincere appreciation to all volunteers whose efforts contributed to the success of the event, with particular thanks to Marc Hopper and Cynthia Reynoso for their support and dedication.
The Americas 2026 Investiture stands as a meaningful expression of the Royal House of Georgia’s ongoing mission, strengthening its presence in the Americas while honoring service, tradition, and commitment within its Orders.
