H.E. Prince David Grabovac

 

Biography

His Excellency Prince David Grabovac (Georgian: პრინცი დავიდ გრაბოვაცი), a Prince of the Royal House of Georgia, was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1983.

Education

Prince Grabovac received his education at La Salle Catholic College and earned a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Media Communications from Southern Cross University. He completed a Master of Leadership and Management in Education from the University of Newcastle and a Doctorate of Education from UCAM Catholic University of Murcia, Spain. He has received global diplomacy training from the University of London.

Professional and Diplomatic Service

Throughout his career, Prince Grabovac has been active in international business, spanning Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, and Hong Kong, with interests in financial services and education. He has also worked as a ministerial adviser in the Australian Parliament and as a lecturer and visiting professor at several institutions. He is known professionally as Dr. David Grabovac.

Within the Royal House of Georgia, he carries out duties supporting H.R.H. Crown Prince Davit Bagrationi, Head of the Bagrationi dynasty, as a Special Envoy.

His Excellency also serves as the Honorary Consul of the Bahamas to Australia. In this capacity, he represents the Bahamian Government’s interests in Australia and contributes to bilateral relations between these two Commonwealth countries.

Charitable Activities

Prince David Grabovac divides his time between various charitable initiatives focusing on his interests in education, humanitarian causes, art and culture.

He is an Advisor to the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, Ambassador of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and has worked with the Catholic Church and its agencies in providing humanitarian support. Furthermore, he is the trustee of the Grabovac Foundation, which has awarded numerous merit-based scholarships. The Prince has been recognized by the mayor of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, for his extraordinary support of and assistance to cultural and educational programs for Georgian students.

Honours

  •  Prince Grabovac is a Knight of the Grand Collar of the Order of the Eagle of Georgia. In 2017, the President of Georgia, by presidential decree, awarded him citizenship of Georgia on the basis of state interests.

  •  Red Cross of Merit (Ministry of Defence, Republic of Portugal – Portuguese Red Cross)

  •  Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Danilo I (Royal House of Petrović-Njegoš, Montenegro)
  •  Grand Officer of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus (Royal House of Savoy, Italy)
  • Knight of Jure Sanguinis with Gold Star of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George (Royal House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies)
  •  Knight Master of the Brotherhood, Maestranza de Caballería de Castilla in the Kingdom of Spain
  •  Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration (Collège de Paris, France)

Coat of Arms

Coats of arms, or armorial bearings, are symbols regulated by specific traditions and customs. They are considered to be a heritable visual representation of the armiger. The Grabovac armorial bearings are found in the armorial archives of the Royal Heraldic College of Georgia, the Royal House of Braganza and the Chronicler of Arms of the Government of Castile and León in the Kingdom of Spain.
