Russian Imperial wedding

The first Imperial wedding in over a century. The heir to the throne, George of Russia, and an Italian daughter of diplomats, Rebecca Bettarini, are married in a ceremony that take place in the Saint Isaac’s Cathedral in the former imperial capital. St. Petersburg.
 
The Crown Prince Davit of Georgia was godfather of the religious ceremony together with the Crown Prince Boris of Bulgaria, the witnesses were H.R.H. Irakli Bagration of Mukhrani, The Crown Prince Leka II of Albania, Prince Joakin Murat,Crown Prince of Egypt Muhammad Alli Prince of the Said  
 
The pair’s union was blessed by the Russian Orthodox Church’s top official in St. Petersburg, Metropolitan Varsonofy, and Grand Duke George. Romanov’s mother, Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna. While the leadership of the church recognizes the grand duchess’s claim to the throne.
 
The bride converted to Russian Orthodoxy and took the name Victoria Romanovna.
The Crown Prince Davit of Georgia and The Grand Duke George of Russia are close relatives, since their Grandfather and Grandmother were brothers.
 
1500 guests attended the religious ceremony, with representation of 20 Royal Houses.
