His Royal Highness Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic, was buried today in the Saint George Church yard in Oplenac. Their Graces Bishop Jovan of Sumadija and Bishop Irinej of Australia and New Zealand (Protector and Spiritual Advisor of The Order of the Eagle of Georgia for Australia and New Zealand) officiated the funeral service at 10:30 am.<\/p>\n
The solemn funeral was attended by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander, Crown Princess Katherine and Hereditary Prince Peter who was Prince Alexander\u2019s Karadjordjevic\u2019s godson and HE Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, President of Republic of Serbia.<\/p>\n
Prince Aleksandar, the son of Prince Regent Pavle of Yugoslavia and Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark, was born 13. August 1924. in White Lodge, Great Britain.<\/p>\n
Great-great-grandson of Karageorge, descendant of the Russian Imperial House of Romanov, Princely line of Demidov of San Donato, as well as of the Kings and Princes of Greece and Denmark.<\/p>\n
Therefore, His Highness is a close relative not just of the Serbian Royal Family, but also of the Imperial, Royal and Princely Houses of: Italy, Russia, Greece, Denmark, Belgium, Montenegro, France, Austria, Prussia, Liechtenstein, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Saxony, Prussia .<\/p>\n
Schooled at Eton. Took part in The World War II as a volunteer pilot of The RAF and had 1000 hours of combat flight. After World War II he settled in Paris.
