The last event on the programme of the Royal Visit to Dublin was the invitation to attend the Gael Linn 60th Anniversary Concert at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Gael Linn was founded in 1953 and has been known since then as an entrepreneurial organisation. The main aim of the organisation is to foster and promote the Irish language and its heritage throughout Ireland as a living language and as an expression of identity.<\/p>\n
It is well known for the enterprises it founded in Gaeltacht areas. Gael Linn continues to implement its entrepreneurial philosophy through the broad range of activites and projects which it engages in from year to year. The Gael Linn programme can be divided into three broad categories; education, language promotional schemes and business.<\/p>\n
Mr. Antoine \u00d3 Cuile\u00e1in, Chief Executive of Gael Linn, received the Royal party on arrival at the National Concert Hall in Dublin, which included The Duke of San Jorge, The Marquis of Ferris, The Count of Boluda, The Baron de Giorgio, Dr. the Chevalier James O\u2019Higgins Norman, Mr. Patrick Downes and Mr. Ian R. Galloway.<\/p>\n
The Royal party were then led to the entrance and introduced to Deputy Denis McGinley TD, Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs of the Republic of Ireland, who warmly welcomed His Royal Highness and his retinue and keenly asked about Georgia, its people, climate, industry and relative comparisons with Ireland.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the concert, which celebrated Irish folk music and dancing, Mr. \u00d3 Cuile\u00e1in announced the presence of His Royal Highness Prince David of Georgia, and thanked the Royal guest for his attendance, which was an honour to Gael Linn.<\/p>\n
During his speech at the end of the concert, Minister McGinley announced that the Georgian Ballet company was expected to visit in July of 2014 and said that he hoped that the Royal Georgian visitors would also be in attendance, an invitation he repeated in person to His Royal Highness.<\/p>\n
