Royal Institutions of the Royal House of Georgia
As a sovereign dynastic entity, the Royal House of Georgia holds the historic authority to create and oversee institutions that uphold the traditions, heritage, and values of the Georgian monarchy. Under the headship of His Royal Highness Prince Davit Bagrationi‑Mukhrani, Head of the Royal House of Georgia, these institutions embody the continuity of Georgia’s royal legacy and support its mission around the world.
The Royal Orders
The Royal Orders are dynastic orders of chivalry established by the Royal House to honour distinguished service, promote virtue, and preserve the legacy of Georgia’s monarchy. They are governed by statutes approved by the Head of the Royal House and conferred upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the values of service, charity, and national heritage.
- Order of the Eagle of Georgia and the Seamless Tunic of Our Lord Jesus Christ: The highest dynastic order associated with the Royal House of Georgia, traditionally attributed to Saint Queen Tamar and restored in the twentieth century. It is bestowed for outstanding contributions to Georgian culture, faith, and society.
- Order of Saint Queen Tamar: Established to commemorate one of Georgia’s most revered monarchs, this order recognises exceptional service in support of the independence, heritage, and international stature of Georgia.
- Order of the Crown: A dynastic honour conferred in recognition of significant merit and service aligned with the mission and values of the Royal House.
The Royal Heraldic College of Georgia
The Royal Heraldic College of Georgia serves as the official heraldic authority of the Royal House, responsible for regulating, issuing, and recording armorial bearings and related heraldic matters. The College preserves the ancient traditions of Georgian heraldry while ensuring its relevance in the modern era. It operates under the authority of the Head of the Royal House and provides formal recognition of armorial achievements within the royal tradition.
The Office of the Nobility
The Office of the Nobility supports the recognition and documentation of noble titles, privileges, and formal heraldic privileges connected to Georgia’s historic nobility. It works in close collaboration with the Royal Heraldic College to uphold the integrity of noble tradition and administers official matters relating to noble lineage and entitlement. This Office reflects the longstanding role of the Georgian Crown in safeguarding the heritage and continuity of noble families throughout history.
