Investiture of new Knights and Ladies of the Order of the Eagle of Georgia

On the occasion of the wedding between HRH Davit Bagrationi Mukhran and HRH Anna Bagrationi Gruzinsky, the annual investiture ceremony for the new Knights and Ladies of the Royal Order of the Eagle of Georgia and the Seamless Tunic of Our Lord Jesus Christ was held in the Conventions and Exhibitions Centre in Madrid.

The ceremony was presided by HRH Ugo Bagrationi Mukhran, and included attendance by members of the current Georgian government, who made a special trip for the occasion. The Patriarchy sent the Reverend Father Illia – Dean of the Sameba Cathedral in Tbilisi – to Madrid to perform the ceremony, as well as a Georgian chorus that contributed to the enjoyment of the ceremony and the entire evening.

Among attendees were members of the Royal Family of Georgia, the Royal Family of Jordan, the Imperial and Royal Family of Turkey, José de Borbón y Borbón, Count of Zamoisky, first cousin of HM King Juan Carlos I,

HE José Luis Pérez Sánchez-Cerro, Ambassador from Peru

HE Maija Lahteenmaki, Ambassador from Finland

HE Massine Bouzid, Ambassador from the Arab League

as well as different titled nobles from the Kingdom of Georgia, Spain, Portugal, France, Sweden, Turkey, Italy, Jordan, Russia and representatives of Noble Orders and Corporations;

civil authorities and businessmen from Georgia, Spain, Portugal, the United States, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Turkey, Jordan, Russia, Venezuela and the Czech Republic;

and representatives of different security forces from the Kingdom of Spain: the Civil Guard, the National Police Corps, the Royal Guard, the Army and the Navy.

A dinner was offered after the wedding ceremony, with awards being handed out to members of the Order, and was followed by the traditional wedding ball.
