Head of Georgian Royal House meet Chairman of the Parliamentarian Committee for the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues in the Parliament of Georgia

Chairman of the Parliamentarian Committee for Diaspora and Caucasus Issues, MP Teimuraz Chkuaseli and First Deputy Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues Mr. Zaal Sarajishvili met with the Head of the Royal House of Georgia, HRH Davit Bagration-Mukhraneli in the Parliament of Georgia

The problematic issues of our compatriots and diasporal organizations in the Central and Western European countries and the future relations with them, the goals and plans of the Georgian Royal House, its relations with governmental agencies and involvement into the public life were the main topics of discussion during the meeting.

Popularization of Georgia, support to the Georgians living abroad in preservation of national identity and mother language are those directions of activity which could become the basis for the joint collaboration of the Parliamentarian Committee, the office of the State Minister and the Georgian Royal Family, at the meeting was said.

“Non-reigning Royal Houses existing in Europe have very important public function orientated to the youth, children, future generation generally and they are very active in such joint projects. Respectively, for the first stage we have chosen together with our Royal House exactly this direction of activity, namely, to support the youth and involve them in several projects” – was said by the first deputy minister of Georgia for Diaspora issues Mr. Zaal Sarajishvili.

Chairman of the Parliamentarian Committee for the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues was provided with the information on the projects that were already realized. The project “For civil involvement of IDPs and education” which was supported by the Office of the State Minister for Diaspora Issues and the Royal House of Georgia was discussed at the meeting. Within the framework of the project IDPs had a possibility to meet with the representatives of the governmental agencies and NGOs. The children of the IDPs traveled to Spain in order to participate in the international festival under the financial support of the Royal House.

The representatives of the NGO “Women’s Support” introduced to the high guest the upcoming project regarding the international youth festival of the Georgian Diaspora.

The parties have reached to the agreement for the further active relations. The Chairman of the Parliamentarian Committee MP Teimuraz Chkuaseli promised to the Royal House his support and confirmed his readiness for collaboration.
